Wincanton Tennis Club (WTC) is a long established, independently run organisation affiliated to the Lawn Tennis Association, the governing body for tennis in this country, and currently has around 150 members (110 adults and 45 juniors). We have been based at Wincanton Sports Ground since 1997 and play all year round on four all-weather courts which benefit from excellent floodlighting.  We provide all levels of coaching and social play including non-member access. We welcome anyone into the club at any standard without the need to be “played in” or wear “regulation whites”.  All we ask is that you where appropriate non-marking shoes on court, respect the club rules, its members and enjoy yourself!

The tennis you play in the club is entirely up to you. Whether it be at a more competitive league level, club night sessions or a gentle knock with another member or two, or a combination, is entirely up to you.

WTC is run by a voluntary committee of club members who are annually elected at the Annual General Meeting held each Autumn.   Development and strategic support is offered from Somerset and Dorset LTA on a regular basis.

Club Sessions

We run organised ‘mix in’ Club Sessions every Monday and Wednesday evening 6.30-8.30pm, which are under floodlights between October and March and free to members all year round. At each session a member of the club committee is available to organise play and chat to members.  There is a guest fee of £2 per visit (up to three visits) and then it is hoped that the guest will wish to become a member (£6 then deducted from their membership).
